The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.93.17

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
इत्युक्त्वा देहमग्रस्थे श्वभ्रे त्यक्तुमसौ जवात् ।
करोति यावदुत्थानं तावत्कुम्भोऽप्युवाच ह ॥ १७ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
ityuktvā dehamagrasthe śvabhre tyaktumasau javāt |
karoti yāvadutthānaṃ tāvatkumbho'pyuvāca ha || 17 ||

Saying so, as he was proceeding to immolate his body on the craggy hill before him; he was interrupted by his monitor Kumbha, who spoke to him as follows:—
