The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.92.40

एकवारं दहत्यग्निर्दाह्यं भवति तुष्टये ।
साधो क्रियोपकरणं निष्क्रियाय त्यजाम्यहम् ।
न खेदस्तत्र कर्तव्यो नन्वयोग्यं बिभर्ति कः ॥ ४० ॥

ekavāraṃ dahatyagnirdāhyaṃ bhavati tuṣṭaye |
sādho kriyopakaraṇaṃ niṣkriyāya tyajāmyaham |
na khedastatra kartavyo nanvayogyaṃ bibharti kaḥ || 40 ||

The fire burns a thing but once, and the burnt article ceases to burn any more; hence I shun all the implements to my ceremonial rites, in order to set me free from the bondage of all actions for ever more.
