The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अवासनमनासक्त्या कृतानन्ता सवासना ।
आद्यन्तमध्यविषमा दुःखायैव तपःक्रिया ॥ २१ ॥

avāsanamanāsaktyā kṛtānantā savāsanā |
ādyantamadhyaviṣamā duḥkhāyaiva tapaḥkriyā || 21 ||

Forsaking the indifference of your mind, you have become a follower of the prurience of your heart; and chosen for yourself the mortification of an anchorite, which is full of from its first to last.
