The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.90.15

चित्ते चिन्तागृहीते तु त्रिजगज्जालके क्षणात् ।
कथमासाद्यते साधो सर्वत्यागो निरञ्जनः ॥ १५ ॥

citte cintāgṛhīte tu trijagajjālake kṣaṇāt |
kathamāsādyate sādho sarvatyāgo nirañjanaḥ || 15 ||

The thoughts constitute the mind, which is but another name for will or desire; and so long as these are found to be raging in one, it is in vain to talk of the subjection of the mind.
