The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.85.124

हृद्गता क्षोभमायाता जीवं कुण्डलिनीगतम् ।
जीवस्य नियता नाड्यः पृथग्देहे स्थितिं गताः ॥ १२४ ॥

hṛdgatā kṣobhamāyātā jīvaṃ kuṇḍalinīgatam |
jīvasya niyatā nāḍyaḥ pṛthagdehe sthitiṃ gatāḥ || 124 ||

But the living soul (or the vital principle), which is contained in the heart and runs through the Kundalini artery as the breath of life; is subject to pain and sorrow by its very birth.
