The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तज्ज्ञस्य त्वङ्ग लगतो मनागपि न तद्वशात् ।
यथा शुभाशुभौ रागादिनाक्रान्ततरौ मणेः ॥ ११५ ॥

tajjñasya tvaṅga lagato manāgapi na tadvaśāt |
yathā śubhāśubhau rāgādinākrāntatarau maṇeḥ || 115 ||

Thus the two states of pleasure and pain, are known to accompany over lives from birth to death; as the results of our prior acts.
