The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

क्रोडीकृतमनोबुद्धिमयजीवाद्यहंकृतिः ।
अन्तःस्फुरच्चमत्कारा धूमलेखेव नागरी ॥ ८ ॥

kroḍīkṛtamanobuddhimayajīvādyahaṃkṛtiḥ |
antaḥsphuraccamatkārā dhūmalekheva nāgarī || 8 ||

This smoky shade parades over the heart like a swarthy maiden, and encloses in her bosom the subtile body composed of its mind and understanding, the living principle and its egoism.
