The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अग्नेर्विनाशे सद्रूपपरिणामो निशाकरः ।
इन्दोर्विनाशे सद्रूपपरिणामो हुताशनः ॥ ९७ ॥

agnervināśe sadrūpapariṇāmo niśākaraḥ |
indorvināśe sadrūpapariṇāmo hutāśanaḥ || 97 ||

The fire being absent, there remains the presence of the moon; and the absence of the moon, presents the presence of fire.
