The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.81.65

आवर्तफलमालेव नित्यं सलसलायते ।
दण्डाहतेव भुजगी समुन्नतिविवर्तिनी ॥ ६५ ॥

āvartaphalamāleva nityaṃ salasalāyate |
daṇḍāhateva bhujagī samunnativivartinī || 65 ||

Here the kundalini string turns and twirls round like a string beads counted about the finger; and coils also with its reflected head and a hissing sound like the hood of a snake stricken by a stick.
