Verse 6.81.62

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
kāṣṭhakrakacayoḥ śleṣādyathā chedaḥ pravartate |
dvayoḥ saṃgharṣaṇādagniḥ svabhāvājjāyate tathā || 62 ||

Vasishtha replied:—As the attrition of the wood and saw, causes a split in the midst; and as the friction of two things (as of a flint and stone) produces a fire between them, in the same manner doth the confrication of the inhaling and exhaling breath, divide the two prana and apana gases, and produce the jatharagni in the abdomen.
