Verse 6.81.39

यथा विरेकं कुर्वन्ति हरीतक्यः स्वभावतः ।
भावनावशतः कायं तथा यरलवादयः ॥ ३९ ॥

yathā virekaṃ kurvanti harītakyaḥ svabhāvataḥ |
bhāvanāvaśataḥ kāyaṃ tathā yaralavādayaḥ || 39 ||

As the karitaki fruit (chebule myrobalan) is purgative of its own nature, and purges out the crudities from the bodies; so the headwork into the mysterious meaning of the mantras, removes the crude diseases from the frame. (Such are the mystic letters ya, ra, la, va, in the liquids y, r, l, v), signifying the four elements of earth, water, air and fire; curative of many diseases by reflection on their hidden meaning.
