The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
कोऽसौ शिखिध्वजो नाम कथं वा लब्धवान्पदम् ।
एतन्मे कथय ब्रह्मन्भूयो बोधविवृद्धये ॥ ३ ॥

śrīrāma uvāca |
ko'sau śikhidhvajo nāma kathaṃ vā labdhavānpadam |
etanme kathaya brahmanbhūyo bodhavivṛddhaye || 3 ||

Rama asked said:—Who was this Sikhidvaja, sir, and how did he maintain the firmness of his purpose? Please explain this fully to me for the edification of my understanding.
