The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अथ तस्य गुरोर्वक्त्रादित्याकर्ण्य भगीरथः ।
मनस्याहितकर्तव्यः स्वव्यापारपरोऽभवत् ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
atha tasya gurorvaktrādityākarṇya bhagīrathaḥ |
manasyāhitakartavyaḥ svavyāpāraparo'bhavat || 1 ||

Vasishtha related:—Having heard these monitions from the mouth of his religious monitor, he determined in his mind what he was about to do, and set about the execution of his purpose.
