The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.69.61

विगलितात्मपदं विगलन्मनः सुभग सत्त्वमितीह हि कथ्यते ।
न पुनरेति कलामलिनं पदं कनकतामिव ताम्रमुपागतम् ॥ ६१ ॥

vigalitātmapadaṃ vigalanmanaḥ subhaga sattvamitīha hi kathyate |
na punareti kalāmalinaṃ padaṃ kanakatāmiva tāmramupāgatam || 61 ||

The mind is said to be its pure essence, which is insensible of itself, and settled in the supreme soul; it never relapses into the foulness of its nature, as the copper which is mixed with gold, never becomes dirty again.
