The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.68.10

त्रिषु मौनविशेषेषु विषयः काष्ठतापसः ।
सुषुप्तमौनावस्थायां सा तुर्या सैव मुक्तधीः ॥ १० ॥

triṣu maunaviśeṣeṣu viṣayaḥ kāṣṭhatāpasaḥ |
suṣuptamaunāvasthāyāṃ sā turyā saiva muktadhīḥ || 10 ||

All the three prior states of reticence, occur in the austere devotee, and the sleepy or dead silence is what betakes the living liberated only.
