The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

असत्येव कृतारम्भा हेम्नः कटकता यथा ।
प्रतिभासविपर्यासमात्रकारणकोदया ॥ ८ ॥

asatyeva kṛtārambhā hemnaḥ kaṭakatā yathā |
pratibhāsaviparyāsamātrakāraṇakodayā || 8 ||

The fabrication of the world is untrue, as the making of ornaments from gold; it is the error of taking the form for the substance, that appears as the cause of creation.
