The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तामाजगाम नलिनीं परिलोलयितुं गजः ।
रम्यवस्तुक्षयायैव मूढानां जृम्भते पदम् ॥ २५ ॥

tāmājagāma nalinīṃ parilolayituṃ gajaḥ |
ramyavastukṣayāyaiva mūḍhānāṃ jṛmbhate padam || 25 ||

The lake was often infested by elephants, who tore and trampled over the beds of lotus bushes; because it is a pleasure to the malignant base, to lay waste the fair works of God.
