The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

असन्नपि स्वभावं तत्संवित्स्पन्द उदाहृतम् ।
शून्यत्वमजडं यत्तत्परमाहुश्चितेर्वपुः ॥ २३ ॥

asannapi svabhāvaṃ tatsaṃvitspanda udāhṛtam |
śūnyatvamajaḍaṃ yattatparamāhuścitervapuḥ || 23 ||

What is called consciousness or its action, is a non entity in nature; and that which is a mere vacuum, is said to be the subtile body of the Intellect.
