The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.55.20

स कालदेशतो देहाज्जर्जरत्वमुपागतात् ।
वासनावशतो याति प्लक्षपर्णाद्रसो यथा ॥ २० ॥

sa kāladeśato dehājjarjaratvamupāgatāt |
vāsanāvaśato yāti plakṣaparṇādraso yathā || 20 ||

Then as the body is worn out and becomes infirm in course of time, the living soul leaves it like the moisture of a dried leaf, and flies to where it is led by its inborn desire.
