The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अजाग्रत्दृष्टिदृष्टो यः स्वाभिधानादिनेरितः ।
न स्वप्नो विद्यते तस्मादच्छात्मा चितिमात्रकम् ॥ ४५ ॥

ajāgratdṛṣṭidṛṣṭo yaḥ svābhidhānādineritaḥ |
na svapno vidyate tasmādacchātmā citimātrakam || 45 ||

That which is not seen in the sight of a waking man, but is known to him only by name (as the indefinite form of Brahma); can never be seen in dream also, as the pure soul and the intellect of God.
