The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

शब्दस्त्वाकाशनिष्ठत्वात्कर्णाकाशगतः क्षणात् ।
जीवाकाशं विशत्यन्तरित्थमिन्द्रियसंविदः ॥ ३५ ॥

śabdastvākāśaniṣṭhatvātkarṇākāśagataḥ kṣaṇāt |
jīvākāśaṃ viśatyantaritthamindriyasaṃvidaḥ || 35 ||

The sound remaining in its receptacle of the air, passes in a moment in the cavity of the ear; and thence entering into the hollow space of the soul, gives it the sensation of its nature.
