The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.48.11

केवलानुभवप्राप्यं चिद्रूपं शुद्धमात्मनः ।
न देहो नेन्द्रियप्राणौ न चित्तं न च वासना ॥ ११ ॥

kevalānubhavaprāpyaṃ cidrūpaṃ śuddhamātmanaḥ |
na deho nendriyaprāṇau na cittaṃ na ca vāsanā || 11 ||

It is by one's self cogitation alone that the pure intellect can be known, and not by the bodily organs, or living spirit or mind, or by our desire of knowing it.
