The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्राणो न स्पन्दते येषां चित्रस्थवपुषामिव ।
मनो न स्पन्दते येषां चित्रस्थवपुषामिव ॥ ६ ॥
prāṇo na spandate yeṣāṃ citrasthavapuṣāmiva |
mano na spandate yeṣāṃ citrasthavapuṣāmiva || 6 ||
They sit quiet as figures in a painting, without respiration of their breath, and remain as silent as sculptured statues, without the action of their minds.
