The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.44.29

विद्यमानमपि ह्येतच्चित्तं बोधाद्विलीयते ।
सदप्यसदिवाभाति ताम्रं हेमीकृतं यथा ॥ २९ ॥

vidyamānamapi hyetaccittaṃ bodhādvilīyate |
sadapyasadivābhāti tāmraṃ hemīkṛtaṃ yathā || 29 ||

Though the sensational mind is existent in us, yet it seems as quite inexistent and extinct before the light of our rationality, as the substance of copper appears to disappear by being melted with gold.
