The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.44.24

असंवित्स्पन्दमात्रेण याति चित्तमचित्तताम् ।
प्राणानां वा निरोधेन तदेव च परं पदम् ॥ २४ ॥

asaṃvitspandamātreṇa yāti cittamacittatām |
prāṇānāṃ vā nirodhena tadeva ca paraṃ padam || 24 ||

The unconsciousness which follows the inaction of the heart and mind, in consequence of the suspension of the vital breath is the highest perfection.
