The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.44.22

चित्तस्पन्दोत्थिता माया तदभावे विलीयते ।
पयःस्पन्दोत्थिता वीचिस्तदभावे विनश्यति ॥ २२ ॥

cittaspandotthitā māyā tadabhāve vilīyate |
payaḥspandotthitā vīcistadabhāve vinaśyati || 22 ||

The oscillation of the mind causes the illusions, as the palpitation of the heart raises the affections, and they are all at a stop at the suspension of the actions of these organs. So the waves raised by motion of waters and action of the winds, subside in the deep, by cessation of the actions of these elements.
