The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.41.46

संवेदनात्परिज्ञानाच्छिवतामेव गच्छति ।
अज्ञातमेव वा यत्तत्कथं गच्छति वस्तुताम् ॥ ४६ ॥

saṃvedanātparijñānācchivatāmeva gacchati |
ajñātameva vā yattatkathaṃ gacchati vastutām || 46 ||

It is therefore by consciousness and knowledge that Siva can be known, and what is not to be known by these can be nothing at all.
