The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

दारिद्र्येणाथ राज्येन प्रवाहपतितात्मना ।
विचित्रचेष्टापुष्पेण शुद्धात्मानं समर्चयेत् ॥ ३७ ॥

dāridryeṇātha rājyena pravāhapatitātmanā |
vicitraceṣṭāpuṣpeṇa śuddhātmānaṃ samarcayet || 37 ||

Whether reduced to poverty or elevated to royalty, or carried by the currents of casualty; men must always serve their souls, with the flowers of their best endeavours.
