The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.38.36

दिवसं पूजयित्वैवं परे धाम्नि वसेन्नरः ।
एषोऽसौ परमो योग एषा सा परमा क्रिया ।
बाह्यसंपूजनं प्रोक्तमेतदुत्तममात्मनः ॥ ३६ ॥

divasaṃ pūjayitvaivaṃ pare dhāmni vasennaraḥ |
eṣo'sau paramo yoga eṣā sā paramā kriyā |
bāhyasaṃpūjanaṃ proktametaduttamamātmanaḥ || 36 ||

The man who worships him in this way for a whole day, settles in the abode of the deity. This is called the superior yoga meditation, and the best service of the Lord, as also the external adoration of the soul.
