The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.37.31

कल्पितानेकब्रह्माण्डकपाटकवितानकम् ।
लुठल्लोकान्तरव्यूहध्वनन्मुक्ताङ्कपल्लवम् ।
सुखदुःखदशादोषभावाभावरसान्तरम् ॥ ३१ ॥

kalpitānekabrahmāṇḍakapāṭakavitānakam |
luṭhallokāntaravyūhadhvananmuktāṅkapallavam |
sukhaduḥkhadaśādoṣabhāvābhāvarasāntaram || 31 ||

These very many worlds are supposed as so many apartments of this great theatre. The two states of pleasure and pain or joy and grief, which are destined to the lot of all living beings, show the different shows of comic and tragic representations.
