The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ईश्वर उवाच ।
अप्रमेयस्य शान्तस्य शिवस्य परमात्मनः ।
सौम्य चिन्मात्ररूपस्य सर्वस्यानाकृतेरपि ॥ १४ ॥
īśvara uvāca |
aprameyasya śāntasya śivasya paramātmanaḥ |
saumya cinmātrarūpasya sarvasyānākṛterapi || 14 ||
The god replied:—The god Siva is the benignant, incomprehensible and tranquil supreme soul; He is gracious and formless and of the nature of the pure intellect only.
