The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ईश्वर उवाच ।
मुने मननमाहूय स्वसत्तैवाशु मीयताम् ।
त्वमर्थं माहरानर्थं पवनः स्पन्दतामिव ॥ ३ ॥

īśvara uvāca |
mune mananamāhūya svasattaivāśu mīyatām |
tvamarthaṃ māharānarthaṃ pavanaḥ spandatāmiva || 3 ||

The god said:—O sage, call your thoughts home, and employ them soon to think of your own essence; and to bring about your ends, as the breezes of heaven convey the fragrance to the nostrils.
