223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.33.4

सति द्वित्वे किलैकं स्यात्सत्येकत्वे द्विरूपता ।
कले द्वे अपि चिद्रूपे चिद्रूपत्वात्तदप्यसत् ॥ ४ ॥

sati dvitve kilaikaṃ syātsatyekatve dvirūpatā |
kale dve api cidrūpe cidrūpatvāttadapyasat || 4 ||

Taking the monad for a duad, is to ascribe duality to unity;and the imputation of dualism or bipartition to the simple intellect, is wholly futile from its nature of indivisibility.
