The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.30.106

कर्मात्मेत्यभिधां प्राप्ता शोच्यास्य परमात्मनः ।
अनन्तं दुःखबहुलं स्वयं विभ्रममाश्रिता ॥ १०६ ॥

karmātmetyabhidhāṃ prāptā śocyāsya paramātmanaḥ |
anantaṃ duḥkhabahulaṃ svayaṃ vibhramamāśritā || 106 ||

The supreme soul receiving the appellation of the living soul or principle of action, becomes a pitiable object, when it becomes subject to error and illusion, and is subjected to endless pains and miseries.
