The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

असारापारसंसारविकारव्यवहारिणी ।
तापोपतप्तहृदया रागतेजोनुरञ्जिता ॥ ८१ ॥

asārāpārasaṃsāravikāravyavahāriṇī |
tāpopataptahṛdayā rāgatejonurañjitā || 81 ||

Look at this deep and unfordable ocean of the world, all hollow within and rolling with the eventful waves of casualties; it emits the submarine fire from within its bosom, as the human heart flashes forth with its hidden fire of passions and affections.
