The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.30.7

स्वसंकल्पकृतैः कृत्वा क्रमैरर्चनमादृताः ।
बालाः संतोषमायान्ति पुष्पधूपलवार्चनैः ॥ ७ ॥

svasaṃkalpakṛtaiḥ kṛtvā kramairarcanamādṛtāḥ |
bālāḥ saṃtoṣamāyānti puṣpadhūpalavārcanaiḥ || 7 ||

It is for boys only to remain contented with their act of offering flowers and incense to gods, whom they honour in the modes of worship, which they have adopted of their own hobby-choice.
