The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथैतत्संविदाकाशं स्वप्ने भाति जगद्वपुः ।
तथेदं जाग्रदाख्येऽपि स्वप्ने भाति तदेव नः ॥ १४३ ॥

yathaitatsaṃvidākāśaṃ svapne bhāti jagadvapuḥ |
tathedaṃ jāgradākhye'pi svapne bhāti tadeva naḥ || 143 ||

And as it is our empty consciousness, that shows the sight of the external world in our dream; so it is that very thing that shows us the same, in the waking dream of ourselves.
