The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अर्थायाता भवत्यापच्छोकस्यावसरो हि कः ।
बृंहत्युदेति स्फुरति बुद्बुदौघ इवार्णवे ॥ ५७ ॥

arthāyātā bhavatyāpacchokasyāvasaro hi kaḥ |
bṛṃhatyudeti sphurati budbudaugha ivārṇave || 57 ||

All men dealing in worldly affairs, gain wealth with toil and pain for their trouble and danger only; what is the reason therefore for pining at its want, or repining at its loss.
