The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.28.34

देहाद्विचिन्तितो देहः स्थितोऽन्यस्तद्वदेव हि ।
प्राक्प्रवाहचिराभ्यस्तो वासनातिशयेन यः ॥ ३४ ॥

dehādvicintito dehaḥ sthito'nyastadvadeva hi |
prākpravāhacirābhyasto vāsanātiśayena yaḥ || 34 ||

After the soul has passed from its former frame, it receives the same form which it has in view before it after the fancy of the mind, which is either of the kind, to which it has been long used and accustomed, or what it fondly longs in the mind.
