The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.25.20

प्राणापानस्वभावांस्तमबुद्ध्वा भूयो न जायते ।
अष्टावेते महाबुद्धे रात्रिदिवमनुस्मृताः ॥ २० ॥

prāṇāpānasvabhāvāṃstamabuddhvā bhūyo na jāyate |
aṣṭāvete mahābuddhe rātridivamanusmṛtāḥ || 20 ||

The intelligent man who meditates by day and night on the octuple nature, and course of the prana and apana or the inhaling and exhaling airs, is not doomed to be reborn any more in this miserable earth.
