The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वपुःखण्डाभिपतितं शाखामृगमिवोदितम् ।
न चञ्चलं मनो यस्य तं मृत्युर्न जिघांसति ॥ १२ ॥

vapuḥkhaṇḍābhipatitaṃ śākhāmṛgamivoditam |
na cañcalaṃ mano yasya taṃ mṛtyurna jighāṃsati || 12 ||

Death does not lay hold on the person that is firm and sedate in the same posture and position, and does not ramble like an ape from one tree to another, and whose mind is a foreigner to fickleness.
