The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.18.9

भ्रमच्छिवाङ्गनापक्वमहामांसौदनाकुलम् ।
बहिर्भूतं गृहं यस्य श्मशानं हिमपाण्डुरम् ॥ ९ ॥

bhramacchivāṅganāpakvamahāmāṃsaudanākulam |
bahirbhūtaṃ gṛhaṃ yasya śmaśānaṃ himapāṇḍuram || 9 ||

He is beset by the prowling shakals, devouring the burnt carcasses on funeral grounds, and holds his abode beyond the habitations of men, in cemeteries and mortuaries in the outer skirts of cities.
