The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.11.27

संपन्नमेतन्म इति मुधा स्यात्कलना कुतः ।
वीच्यम्भसोः स्पन्दवतोर्न त्वन्यदम्बुनो यथा ॥ २७ ॥

saṃpannametanma iti mudhā syātkalanā kutaḥ |
vīcyambhasoḥ spandavatorna tvanyadambuno yathā || 27 ||

How say you, that this or that is your doing, when you have the power of doing nothing. The fluctuation of the billows on the surface of the sea, cannot agitate the waters of the deep below).
