The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.10.7

गच्छन्पश्यति गच्छन्तं स्थितं तिष्ठञ्छिशुर्यथा ।
भ्रान्तमेवमिदं चेतः पश्यत्यात्मानमाकुलम् ॥ ७ ॥

gacchanpaśyati gacchantaṃ sthitaṃ tiṣṭhañchiśuryathā |
bhrāntamevamidaṃ cetaḥ paśyatyātmānamākulam || 7 ||

The wandering intellect sees the soul to be wandering, and the sedate understanding thinks, it to be stationary, as one perceives his breath of life to be slow or quick, according as he sits still or runs about. In this manner the bewildered understanding finds the soul to be distracted also.
