The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.6.40

परिपालयति प्रीता मयूरी वारिदं यथा ।
नेत्रलोलालिनीलोला स्फुरिताधरपल्लवा ॥ ४० ॥

paripālayati prītā mayūrī vāridaṃ yathā |
netralolālinīlolā sphuritādharapallavā || 40 ||

The greedy hell-hounds are glad to look upon the ignorant, that are fast-bound in the coils of their serpentine desires; as the thirsty peacocks are pleased to gaze on the black clouds, that rise before their eyes in the rainy season.
