The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.1.40

अस्तं गते दिनकरे समं दिवसकर्मभिः ।
अभ्यागते रात्रिकरे समं रजनिकर्मभिः ॥ ४० ॥

astaṃ gate dinakare samaṃ divasakarmabhiḥ |
abhyāgate rātrikare samaṃ rajanikarmabhiḥ || 40 ||

After the sun had set down, with the diurnal duties of men, there rose the bright moon on high, with impositions of many nocturnal duties on mankind.
