The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अथापदं प्राप्य सुसंपदं वा महामतिः स्वप्रकृतं स्वभावम् ।
जहाति नो मन्दरवेल्लितोऽपि शौक्ल्यं यथा क्षीरमयाम्बुराशिः ॥ ९८ ॥

athāpadaṃ prāpya susaṃpadaṃ vā mahāmatiḥ svaprakṛtaṃ svabhāvam |
jahāti no mandaravellito'pi śauklyaṃ yathā kṣīramayāmburāśiḥ || 98 ||

Whether under the trial of troubles and tribulations, or under the temptations of rank and prosperity; the great minded man, does not transgress his intrinsic nature, as the Milky ocean does not tarnish its whiteness, though perturbed under the charming Mandara mountain.
