The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वासनासंपरित्यागः प्राणस्पन्दनिरोधनम् ।
एतास्ता युक्तयः पुष्टाः सन्ति चित्तजये किल ॥ ३६ ॥

vāsanāsaṃparityāgaḥ prāṇaspandanirodhanam |
etāstā yuktayaḥ puṣṭāḥ santi cittajaye kila || 36 ||

The abandonment of desires and suppression of breathing, in the manner as hereinafter inculcated, are the most efficient means of subduing the mind.
