The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तद्धेतुः सर्वहेतूनां तस्य हेतुर्न विद्यते ।
संसारः सर्वसाराणां तस्मात्सारं न विद्यते ॥ ११२ ॥

taddhetuḥ sarvahetūnāṃ tasya heturna vidyate |
saṃsāraḥ sarvasārāṇāṃ tasmātsāraṃ na vidyate || 112 ||

He is the cause of all, without any cause of his own; He is the optimum or best of all, without having anything better than himself.
