223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.91.100

घटता पटता चैव त्वत्ता मत्तेति कथ्यते ।
सत्तारूपविभागेन यत्तन्नानाकृति स्थितम् ॥ १०० ॥

ghaṭatā paṭatā caiva tvattā matteti kathyate |
sattārūpavibhāgena yattannānākṛti sthitam || 100 ||

This two fold division of the one and same soul, is as the difference of ghata and pata or of the pot and painting, and like that of I and thou, which are essentially the same thing, and have no difference in their in-being.
